Farewell

Here we are at the end of the year and the end of my feature week. Todays projects are full of sparkle and shine. I used Unity's Kit Of the Month's called Midnight Kisses and When You Smile. Both of these Angie girls remind me of my daughters so these are for them. Midnight has paper pieced hat, glasses and blouse. Shes embellished with metalic jewels and lots of glitter confetti. Her background is distress oxides and glitter coated die cuts.
Both girls were colored with Inktense pencils and accented with Twinkling H2O's. When You Smile girl is rasied up over Brutus' Barn Wall with strings of colored lights. I coated the wall with vellum to soften the look. The sentiment was stamped and cut to look like one of those trendy wood signs. I finisded her off with a sprinkle of tiny holographic stars. Both are framed with shiny holographic purple paper, which was also used to creat the lights. Did I mention I fussy cut those out by hand!? {crazy}  I really love how these turned out.

Pickles and Beer

Did that title make you scratch your head? Ha! I ended up making a couple of unconventional Christmas cards for the unique loves in my life.
My teen daughter has developed a borderline unhealthy obsession with dill pickles recently. Unity's pickle jar stamp made this years card for her, humorous and extra memorable. I suspended the jar in the center of an oval. It spins and wobbles when it's opened.
The beer card was created for my Granddaughters daddy. He made it through his first season of fatherhood! Cheers! ;) He also likes trying out different IPA's so I thought it would be a fun card for him.

The background of both cards was created with the pine sprig from Winter Blessings. I used that kit a lot this year. It's so versatile for this time of year.
The pickle jar is double sided and has a bit of paper piecing. The beer was accented with Wink of Stella for that frosty mug effect. I cheated a bit and used my computer to alter a couple of Unity sentiments in order to create exactly what I wanted. I used "Cheers to New Beginnings" from the sentiment kit called You Can & You Will and "Wishing you a blessed Winter a merry Christmas, & a happy New Year" sentiment from Winter Blessings.
Don't forget to leave a comment each day for a chance at winning some Unity stamps! For an extra entry today tell me which kit you used over and over this season. Cheers to you all!

Black Ice

Hello Unies! I hope you all had a beautiful & memorable Christmas.
For todays post, I’d thought I’d share a new technique I tried out on a couple of my Christmas cards. The Black Ice thechnique was started by Melissa Kerman of Melissa’s Crafting Treehouse. Here is the video toutorial showing how she developed the technique.

I think this technique is so cool! Pun intended. :) For my cards I followed Melissa's instructions and mounted my panels on homemade glittered paper. I used these Unity kits; Winter Blessings and Woodland Deer, Spruce Up the Season & the sentiment from Magical Holiday

Have you tried this technique out yet? The effects are really stunning in person. The photos cant really capture the true essence of the beauty it holds.
If you've been enjoying these projects this week and want to win some Unity stamps, leave me a comment! I'm drawing two winners at the end of the week! Comment each day so you dont miss out! For an extra entry today, tell me what your favorite twchnique is.

It's Christmas Day!

Merry Christmas!
It's such a relief this day is finally here! I've been practically bursting to share today's project!
I am absolutely giddy with excitement over these sweet little stuffies I made for loved ones using Unity Stamps! eeeek!
Once that lightbulb moment happened, I could not stop seeing possiblities and creating more of them.

I stamped the images onto felt, using regular inks & white craft ink on the darker felt shades. I then cut each piece out, assembled their layers and sewed them together. I simply used thread to add the eyes and details, then stuffed them with cotton. If you are familiar with paper piecing you'll have no problem recreating these. The Snow, Snow Cute man has bead eyes, wire arms and a cardinal fashioned from a red pompom with a seed bead beak.
The Abominable Snowman has faux fur and an arsenal of pompom snowballs. I'm working on a different version of him! Stay tuned to a future post!
The Puppy is a recreation of my own dog, Koni & the brown "Loyally Yours" dog looks like my dog, Charlie. :)
The Penguin was made for a special needs toddler, I lined the tummy with a bit of plastic from a water bottle so it would make crinkling sounds. :)

These were perfect stocking stuffers for my kids and baby granddaughter. The teddy bear fits her nearly 1-year-old hands perfectly. They can be used as ornaments too, simply sew a loop on the back for the hanger.
I'm so proud of these! I could go on and on. They are simply adorable and truly limitless! I have ideas for so many more!

Here's a closer peek. Note, I am a novice at sewing. :)

Here is a list of images I used:
Cuddlebug Teddy Bear
Abominable Snowman
Snow, Snow Cute
Cuddlebug Puppy
Cuddlebug Penguin
Cuddlebug Fox
Loyally Yours

I'm so glad you were able to peek in at today's project! hope you are as excited about these cuties as I am. Be sure to leave a comment each day this week to be included in the prize drawing at the end of the week. For an extra entry, tell me what kit would you create one of these Felt Stuffies with? Want another entry? Simply share this post on your favorite social media platform and let me know where to find it.

Merry Christmas Eve

Hello Unie friends! I'm honored that you've taken the time to peek in during this magical time of year. I hope you've been enjoying a beautiful holiday season.
For today's project, I created this simple & cute Animal Cracker decoration set to decorate a little tree for my kitchen. When I first saw the kit, "Roar, Grr, Eek" I couldn't help to be reminded of my childhood favorite treats. of course, I had to toss in my husband's favorites, the frosted Circus Animals. All of the animals were stamped with Versamark and heat embossed. The pink ones are stamped on fun foam, as I didn't have the right shade of pink paper in my stash... the horror! Ha! :) The Itty Bitty kit called, "Snow Place Like Home" created the perfect box for my cookies to be stored in through the year. I stamped it out a few times, attaching one to the back as well. I cut one apart to create a bigger image, add dimension, a porch and second story window.

I also used Unity's "Mirror Stamping Tool" so that the animal ornaments would be double sided. I sandwiched a hook in between the two images. For the finishing touch, I added a mug of warm cocoa from Unity's kit of the month, When You Smile and the large snowflake from the kit of the month, Midnight Kisses. I'll be sharing another project with both those kit later this week as well.
The house box was created from Spellbinders and SU! dies.
I'm so glad you could stop by today! I hope you enjoyed this project and feel inspired. Don't forget to leave a comment each day this week! You'll be added to a drawing for a Unity Grab Bag prize. For an extra entry today, tell me a treat that brings up happy childhood memories.

Lazy Summer Days

When I saw the July photo for the Tuesday color challenge I swooned. It’s a dream photograph of a perfect moment.  Despite my multiple att...
